  AAC Presidential Candidate, Sowore Calls For Sacking Of Nigerian Central Bank Gov Over Redesign Of 200, 500, 1000 Naira Notes The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has called for the sacking of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele over the redesign of banknotes. The apex bank earlier said it would start circulating the newly redesigned N200, N500, and N1000 notes starting in December 2022. Emefiele who disclosed this on Wednesday afternoon during a special briefing said the naira notes were redesigned following a request made by the Federal Government. The CBN boss advised Nigerians to take old notes to banks in exchange for the new notes, adding that the action was taken to take control of the currencies in circulation. Mr Haji had an aversion to soap and water. He said he hated even the thought of bathing. The 'dirtiest man in the world' is dead. Amou Haji known for not taking a shower for decades has died at the age of 94, state media has reported. It was gathered that Haji did not wash for more than half a century. He died on Sunday in the village of Dejgah in Iran, IRNA news agency said. Mr Haji chose to avoid showering over fears that it would make him sick. But 'for the first time a few months ago, villagers had taken him to a bathroom to wash,' a local official told the Iranian state media. Mr Haji had an aversion to soap and water. Breaking news: gun men attacked apostle suleman convoy 7 person confirmed dead at the scene of the attack

  The convoy of Omega Fire ministries founder, Apostle Johnson Suleman has been attacked by gunmen with his aides reportedly shot dead. Sources confirmed that the incident happened at Warake road Auchi, Edo state while the clergyman was in transit with his entourage. Suleman’s lawyer, Samuel Amune, who confirmed the attack to Punch correspondent, said the cleric just returned from a programme in Tanzania, adding that he escaped death by a whisker. He said, “He was returning from a journey and he had almost gotten to the shores of Auchi when some assassins attacked him. Three of his police orderlies, among others, died. He travelled before and just finished a programme in Tanzania the day before yesterday.   The Federal Government has urged the Supreme Court to set aside the October 13 Appeal Court's judgment to liberate Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the head of the IPOB, which is under prosecution. According to a report by the Daily Post Newspapers, there were seven grounds for appeal against the decision of the Appeal Court in the notice of appeal dated October 18 and signed by the Director, Public Prosecution of the Federation, Mohammed Abubakar, Senior State Counsel, G. Nweze, Department of Public Prosecution, Federal Ministry of Justice, and Assistant Chief State Counsel, D. Kaswe and A. Aluko.   Nigerian Senators Demand Release Of Nnamdi Kanu, Ask Buhari Government To Consider Dialogue The South-East Caucus in the Nigerian Senate has demanded the release of detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, as ordered by the Court of Appeal. In a statement issued on Thursday, the senators urged the President and the Federal Government to obey the order of the court and pursue dialogue and genuine reconciliation instead of appealing against the judgment. The statement was signed by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu (Majority Whip), Senator Chukwuka Utazi (Minority Whip), Senators Enyinnaya Abaribe, Uche Ekwunife (Iyom), Stella Oduah, Sam Egwu, Obinna Ogba, Theodore Orji (Ochendo), Chimaroke Nnamani, Micheal Nnachi, Onyewuchi Ezenwa, Rochas Okorocha, Frank Ibezim and Patrick Ifeanyi Uba.   On Tuesday, the Congress Of Nigerian University Academics (CONUA), sat for an emergency meeting to determine the resumption date for members to resume academic activities in public universities. This comes after the union was registered and had gotten approval from the Federal Government, to operate as one of the unions representing the Nigerian lecturers. CONUA called for a meeting at UNIBEN Sports Complex parking lot, to deliberate on the way forward, and also to consider Federal Government's directive to resume academic activities with immediate effect. The union came to an agreement that the date for the commencement of academic activities is Wednesday, October 5, and all lecturers under the body are mandated to commence work without further delay.
